Organically Speaking

“Capturing the moment, the emotion, the essence, the memories and the beauty of life while taking pictures allows me to take all the things I enjoy about life and save it forever,” a response shared by Hawa when asked about her passion for photography.

Hawa Bangura grew up and currently resides in Prince George’s County, Maryland, a suburb on the fringes of our Nation’s Capital. Her introduction into photography began as a hobby in high school; taking photos of friends and art which caught her eye.  

It was not until she attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, that she began to take her hobby seriously, majoring in photography.  Capturing beauty through images is a hallmark of her brand, whether it is through photos/videos of the middle schoolers she works with or taking photos of her boyfriend’s pedigree scottish terrier, Jake; her images are individual pieces of art. For Hawa, the process of taking photos is organic, natural, and simple.

Her catalog includes commercial and studio photography, independent as well as a variety of exhibits around the DMV area.
